Bioluminis Filter: light changes before it touches your skin
A Bioluminis Filter has no cables. No battery. It emits no light of its own.
And yet it modulates certain characteristics of light before it reaches the skin. The light entering the Filter does not necessarily retain the same properties as it leaves. That invisible moment is where Bioluminis optical technology begins.
Light goes in. But it comes out changed.
Think of it this way: sunglasses do not generate a different kind of light; they modify the light passing through them. Some regions of the spectrum are transmitted to a greater or lesser extent than others, so the light that finally reaches the eye has different characteristics from those it had on entering the lens.
When light passes through an optical system, aspects of its behaviour can change.
Bioluminis Filters work on this same basis, with a configuration designed specifically for the protocols of the Bioluminis Method. They are passive optical devices. They do not generate additional radiation: they act on the light they receive.
What matters happens beyond what we can see.
The size of the device does not tell the whole story. What is interesting happens as light passes through its structure, in a process that may involve several optical properties:
Spectral selection — certain regions of the spectrum are transmitted to a greater or lesser extent.
Attenuation — the amount of radiation transmitted varies.
Polarisation — the orientation of the electric field of the light wave.
Spatial distribution — how light is distributed after passing through the device.
It does not have to be visible to happen.
And this is one of the distinctions that define Bioluminis: it is not about generating more light, but about working with the light that already exists. Natural light, with its broad spectral content, is the starting point of the Method.
The question then changes. It is no longer just which filter we use, but what characteristics the light will have as it continues towards the skin.
When contact begins.
Once light reaches the skin’s surface, a different stage begins. Some is reflected. Some is absorbed. Some is scattered within the tissue.
The balance between these phenomena depends, among other factors, on wavelength and the optical properties of the skin. That is why, in photobiology, it is not enough to speak of “light” in the abstract: its physical characteristics and the conditions under which the interaction takes place matter.
This is where the optical principle becomes a method. Bioluminis Filters are applied to specific areas according to defined protocols, bringing three elements together in a single process:
Natural light → Bioluminis Filter → Interaction with the skin.
A simple sequence that explains why such a small device can be part of such different protocols.
From a physical principle to a method of application.
Here, Bioluminis becomes more than just a filter placed on the skin. The choice of device, the application area and the way it is incorporated into each protocol are all part of the Method, making it possible to work with different collections and objectives in wellbeing, comfort, energy and beauty.
For professionals, this distinction is particularly interesting: the technology requires neither an additional light source nor electrical systems as part of the session. The starting point is already there. And it fits into something as small as a Bioluminis Filter.
